The Udo-Jürgens-musical comes to Vienna.
“Ich war noch niemals in New York” (“I’ve Never Been to New York”) is the central premiere of this season at the Raimund Theater in Vienna. The musical, or rather, dramatized medley of popular tunes by Austrian singer-songwriter Udo Jürgens, had its world premiere in 2007 in Hamburg, where it scored tremendous success. In the new production, the story about an elderly couple running away from an old people’s home to get married in New York will be localized in order to have a Vienese version.
